Kalahari Runway – Wilderness Safaris contracted Soil & Dust Solutions, with its local construction partner Shuma Construction to construct a runway in Central Kalahari, Botswana — Kalahari Plains. From initial land clearing, to site preparation, base layer construction and stabilization, and final surface seal using EBS (Emulsified Base Stabilizer).
The sensitive environment required a solution that was both environmentally compliant and sustainable in terms of maintenance and cost, AND which would stabilize the sandy silty soil.
