Soil & Dust Solutions with its local construction partner Shuma Construction constructed a runway for Wilderness Safaris in Central Kalahari, Botswana  -- Kalahari Plains.  From initial land clearing, to site preparation, base layer construction and stabilization, and final surface seal using EBS (Emulsified Base Stabilizer).

Soil & Dust Solutions was contracted to perform an upgrade to the existing gravel road and parking areas throughout the Estate in order to create a more usable road surface that blends in with the surrounding environment thus creating a more pleasant atmosphere throughout the Estate.

Site inspections were conducted and samples were taken from the road and sent to the laboratory for testing to determine the best mix ratio for this particular road.  

Soil & Dust Solutions was contacted by a Private Estate looking for a solution to reduce the dust in the contractor parking area. As the area only required dust control an EBS surface seal was the recommended solution for the parking area. The area was swept clean of all leaves and debris then pre-wet with water to loosen the tension of the soil allowing for proper penetration of the EBS into the surface. The EBS Soil Stabilizer was applied manually using a pump and spray system on the back of a truck.

Palabora Mining Company with the world’s largest known reserves of Vermiculite and the belief in running their operations in an environmentally responsible way has taken the decision to find a way of reducing the generation of dust from those operations. Palabora shares a common border with Kruger National Park and therefore the impact of their operations is closely scrutinised by the government, environmental groups, the South African National Parks Board and the local community.
